Commercial Applicator/Custom Applicator

This information is for individuals or companies applying pesticides for hire.

Obtain and complete application form Form DP-29  Submit to the Plant Board with the appropriate fees and required documentation.

Required Documents:

Proof of Financial Responsibility of $100,000 using Form  DP-44A, sent to the Plant Board office.  May be proven by Insurance, Letter of Credit, Surety Bond or Escrow Account.

Each firm is required to have a certified and licensed individual commercial applicator.  This person must be indicated on the application form DP-29. 

For out of state firms, a Power of Attorney designating an Arkansas resident is required.

Application Equipment: Each piece of application equipment must display a decal before applying    pesticides.  Also aircraft must display a decal before applying seed, fertilizer or pesticides.

The Commercial Firm License expires each year on December 31.

To add additional equipment after a firm license has been issued use Form DP-29.


Custom Applicator Permit

This permit is required if an individual or company applies any pesticides classified as a "E" or "F" under the Arkansas Regulations on Pesticide Classification for hire.

Obtain and complete application Form DP-32. Submit to the Plant Board with the appropriate fees and required documentation.
     
Requirements:

One must obtain a Commercial Firm License first.

Each Custom Applicator Firm is required to have a certified and licensed operator-in-charge.  This person must be indicated on the application form DP-32. Note: Each individual applicator (air or ground applicator) who applies pesticides classified as a "E" or "F" under the Arkansas Regulations on Pesticide Classification must have taken and passed the Custom Applicator exam with the Plant Board.

 (Testing is required for the operator in charge and this person must be indicated on the application form.  Also, each applicator (air or ground applicator) who applies 2,4-D containing herbicides must have tested with the Plant Board.)
